On an untouched land, where for almost 50 years nothing had been built, my top priority was to be respectful towards the land and nature. Close to lake Balaton, the university wanted a place for students to get away and learn in peace, they bought the land and asked us to plan short-time accomodation. Following the mentality of minimalism, I planned a cabin house with only the amount of room the inhabitants need, that doesn’t want to be a spectacle but creates curiosity. The cabin, when connected together, can host 6 people, each made by CLT panels, which makes it easy to prefabricate and only the assembly would be needed on site. The connecting passage brings people together, while the “bedrooms”, hanging out from the structure, bring infimacy.
